The 5G hype is everywhere. We are receiving a little bit of 5G for now. However big application changes will start to come about around 2021 or 2022. While many things are uncertain, and confusing the serious mid-term 5g will be all about new radio. The main things to understand is 5G speeds are directly related to how wide the available channels are, and the amount available. Many elements of current 5G is built on 4G networks which means mobile operators can take an evolutionary approach to infrastructure investment. In rural areas as well as suburban areas operators can handle increased traffic simply by densifying existing networks with macro sites. While we are getting ready for the next generation, each technology cycle brings opportunity that is greater to mobile operators. However this requires greater infrastructure investment, and understanding the network infrastructure and cost basis associated, puts them in a stronger position to design an infrastructure strategy that suits their unique needs. Let’s see how this all rolls out for the future. Delivering 5G!
